CAIR London is a navigation that help tube users reduce their exposure to poor air quality and noise pollution whilst continuing to travel in the most environmentally, cost & time efficient way possible. Public transport is better for the environment, but reality is that many travel routes on the London Underground have high levels of air pollution. Sadly, the vast majority of tube passengers are breathing in air pollution (PM2.5) that far exceeds the safe limit. We’ve all experienced the screeching on the tube - 40% of the tube map reach decibel levels for which hearing protection is recommended or mandatory. Stretches of the Victoria line reading up to 93dB which certainly isn’t music to your ears! The London Underground is the heartbeat of London, allowing millions of people every day to travel at ease and speed. However, we should also be aware of how polluted it is, and so we’ve created CAIR London to help people have a choice in how they travel by choosing the cleanest route.
